Media is a local media player for Android. It is built to respect your privacy by design. This policy explains, plainly, what the app does and does not do with your information.

The short version

Media does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. Everything the app does happens on your device.

Information the app accesses

To function as a media player, Media reads media files already stored on your device:

• Audio and video files — so it can list and play your music, podcasts, audiobooks, and videos. This uses Android's media permissions, which you grant on first launch.
• Cover artwork embedded in those files, shown in the app.

This information is read only to display and play your media. It is never uploaded or sent anywhere.

Information the app stores

Media stores a small amount of data locally on your device, never off it:

• Your edits — custom titles, artist/author names, and category choices you make for your files.
• Play history — which items you played recently, to power the "Continue" row.
• Preferences — your theme and text-size choices.

All of this is kept in the app's private storage on your device. Uninstalling the app removes it. None of it leaves your device.

What the app does not do

• No internet connection is required or used to collect data.
• No personal information is gathered, transmitted, or sold.
• No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking libraries are included.
• No account or sign-in is required.

Children's privacy

Media does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. Because the app collects no data at all, it poses no data-collection risk to users of any age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a revised date.
