Search ("the app", "we", "our") is a web browser for Android developed by DevBangs. This Privacy Policy explains how the app handles your information. Our approach is simple: Search is built to keep your browsing on your device.

Information We Collect

Search does not collect, store, or transmit your personal information to us or to any third party. We do not operate servers that receive your browsing data. Specifically:

• We do not collect your name, email, or account information — the app has no login.
• We do not track your browsing activity.
• We do not sell or share your data, because we do not have it.

Information Stored On Your Device

To make the browser work, Search stores the following locally on your device only. This data never leaves your phone and is not accessible to us:

• Browsing history — the pages you visit, so you can revisit them. You can clear this at any time in Settings. History is not recorded in Night Owl (private) mode.
• Bookmarks — sites you choose to save.
• Settings and preferences — your chosen search engine, theme, accent color, and other options.
• Cookies and site data — managed by the system WebView, the same as any browser, to keep websites working. You can clear this in Settings.
• Downloaded files — saved to your device's Downloads folder at your request.

You can delete this local data at any time using the "Clear browsing data" option in the app's Settings, or by clearing the app's storage in your device settings.

Permissions

Search requests only the permissions it needs to function:

• Internet / Network access — required to load web pages.
• Location, Camera, Microphone — only used if a website you visit requests them and you allow it, exactly as in any browser. Search does not access these on its own, and you can disable website access to them in Site Settings.
• Storage — used only to save files you choose to download.

Third-Party Websites

Search is a tool for viewing websites made by others. When you visit a website, that site's own privacy practices apply. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of third-party websites. Search offers optional ad blocking and a private browsing mode to help reduce tracking, but no browser can guarantee complete protection against third-party tracking.

Children's Privacy

Search does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children. As a general-purpose browser, it can access the open web; parents and guardians should supervise minors' internet use.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at this page with an updated date.
